What to try if you still can't comment

I know many of you are still having trouble commenting on other people's blogs.  Here are a few things to try (one of these tends to work, so go through each one!). I am looking for other solutions as well!

1) Try changing your browser.  If you are using Safari, switch to Chrome. If you are using Chrome, try Safari or Firefox.

2) This may be related to allowing "third party cookies" so go in and ENABLE third party cookies on your blog.  If you are using Chrome, try this.  Safari, try this.  Firefox, try this.

Do some googling and see if you find any other solutions!!  Share if you do!

FNED this week of Jan 21

Hi all,

I hope you have all seen my email as of now.  I am out with COVID this week.  Ugh.  I was so proud of the fact that I had never gotten it and then I finally tested positive yesterday.  So that means that I can't be on campus until after Wednesday.

FNED 246:
  • NO CLASS MONDAY 1/22 (Asynchronous)
  • WEDNESDAY IN PERSON 1/24 for Inspiring Minds Orientation
ASSIGNMENT:
-- Johnson blog by Sunday 1/21/24 at midnight
-- Read and comment on 6 blogs this week when we don't meet
-- Regular reading and writing assignment for next week (see syllabus)

FNED 502:
  • NO CLASS TUESDAY (Asynchronous)
  • Regular in person class next week (1/30)
ASSIGNMENTS:
-- Johnson blog by Sunday 1/21/24 at midnight
-- Read and comment on a least 3 blogs
-- Prepare for next week based on the syllabus

Have a good week everyone.  Let me know if you have questions.

Welcome to FNED!

Welcome to FNED 246 and 502 for the spring semester 2024!

As a central tool of this class, you will create your own blog to use for all of your written assignments, and to keep track of your thoughts about any of the issues we cover. You will not hand in written assignments to me each week; rather you will post them on your blog. In this sense, your blog is your assignment notebook that you will use as you read and prepare for class each week. You can also maintain this blog after this class is over for personal or professional purposes.

blog is your very own, personal online journal. It is public, in that I and your classmates (across both classes) can read it and comment on it, but it is your space and you can control most everything about it. (If you want to make it private so that *only* members of this class can read it, let's talk).

To start your own blog, you need to go to: www.blogger.com

If you would like step by step guidance, click here for a How to Set Up Your Blog handout that you can follow as you work in Blogger. If you feel comfortable just following the steps in blogger, you can do that, too.

In the end, make sure you have done the following:

Create your blog.
Check to be sure your theme is SIMPLE or PICTURE WINDOW.
Write your first post about yourself.
Leave me a comment on this blog with your address.

As you work, just remember... you can't break it!  It is just a blog.
Good luck!!
